![]() Cow Creek 24 x 30 $1000 2010 Cow Creek Canyon is a historic travel route. Native Americans used the canyon to hunt, fish and gather camas root. In the 1840’s prospectors made their way through the canyon on their way to the California Gold Rush. In 1846 the Applegate Trail was blazed over the divide from upper Cow Creek down Canyon Creek. This was a direct wagon route between the Willamette Valley and California and drew travelers away from the Cow Creek Canyon. Then in the early 1880’s the O & C Rail Road line was finished through Cow Creek making it a premier travel route once again. |
